Vanother Collective - A Collaboration

Image
Towards the end of summer 2022, over on Twitter, I came across a so far unnamed start up YouTube collaboration project.   Billed as 'A likeminded collaboration of caravan, campervan and motorhome vloggers. A group of likeminded content creators who share a mutual love for travel and camping'. Well, I'd just started calling myself a campervan vlogger, and I do have a love of travel and camping.  Should I get involved? I'm not sure.  Sounds a big commitment to me.  I'll ask some questions. The first person I spoke to regarding the collaboration was Rich, from 'Only Vans' (when you know, you know). The idea was to post a monthly vlog on a subject agreed between all of the collaborators, and act as advisors to eachother on vlogging, blogging, camping and chiefly, with technical difficulties arising on certain online platforms 😀.  Well that sounded manageable to me.  'Do you have room for a Dubber'? The contact platform is very simple, using

Why You Should Own a Campervan

If you are considering buying a campervan, this is why you should: This is Wyatt; Wyatt, is a converted 2001 short wheel based Volkswagen Transporter T4 1.9TD 800 Special. Wyatt was converted from a panel van, in to a two berth campervan in 2017. Whilst I've been the owner of Wyatt, I have made further modifications to fit my family of four. Most importantly, a pop top bunk, to increase the sleeping capacity to four berth. They make camping easy. I've always enjoyed caravanning and camping, along the length and breadth of the UK. Having the campervan, makes pitching up that little bit easier. All you need to do, is park up! No more winding down stabiliser legs or pitching your tent in the rain (I said I enjoyed camping in the UK, afterall), and no more packing a soaked through canvas into an impossibly tiny bag (I'm actually quite good at this, but prefer not to do it). More importantly, no more wondering whether your tent will make it through a night of gale fo

Ready...steady...BLOG!

Hello! Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my blog. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful and informative.  Some of you may already know me from Twitter or YouTube. If you don't, I'll start from the beginning of how I became a campervan blogger. For as long as I remember, I've holidayed in caravans. I remember staying in Bridlington in the late 80's with my parents and younger brother in a four berth Thomson Glen. With the added awning we managed to sleep eight, with the addition of Grandma, Grandad and Uncle Ian and Aunty Caroline. After the Thomson, we started travelling further afield in a Monza 1400s. An upgrade on the old gas lit caravan, I found it cosy, but it didn't age well with its faux wicker wall coverings and it's orange/brown upholstery.  We went up in the world when my parents bought a Bailey Maestro Corsair. 'Top of the range' as my late Grandad would say. I loved caravanning, and I do now. I still occasionally head off to the
